This is undoubtedly the very best island in the Mamanuca islands for luxury resort development. The unique configuration of this spectacular island with its bush clad volcanic cone extending down to the waters edge, separated from the turquoise lagoon by a sparkling white strip of sugar-white beach gives the island the most ideal topography of any island in the Mamanucas for resort development. The beach faces west giving perfect views of the sunsets, and protection from the South East trade winds. To the west there are no islands to interrupt the sunset, but there are stunning views of surrounding islands to the south visible from the main beach. At the western end of the island a triangular shaped beach rising from the sea, amid a canopy of trees, giving protection to Ethnic Island building forms. The island is located 33.5 miles (54km) from Nadi International Airport, where seaplanes and helicopters can be chartered to deliver you to the island. There is also a high speed catamaran that goes through the islands that can deliver you or guests directly.
